At Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ, we aim to present our students with the opportunity to give voluntary service over a period of time, enabling ASC students to become active and engaged citizens via our new Values-In-Action Program (VIA).
Students will develop and foster a spirit of giving back and gratitude through their active involvement in Service Learning activities. These activities greatly support and reinforce the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ’s values of Living Islam, Respectful Relationships, Real Life Learning, Responsible Citizenship & It Starts with me.
Objective
To develop an increased sense of social responsibility; a global view of society and a heart for ‘giving back’ and helping others. This opens up opportunities to the application of real life learning and values in action; allowing our students to be active members of our society. Besides that, the program is aimed at equipping our students with necessary skills and exposure to Values-in-Action (VIA); a key requirement for admission to courses in universities.
Record Keeping
All VIA activities must be recorded by the participant using the template provided by the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ. Student will submit a log sheet with the following details:
- VIA activity name, date and time
- Organisation
- Nature of activity
- Short reflection of what has been learnt
- Signed by a representative of the organisation or school
