This Friday, 19 May: National Walk to School Day

National Walk Safely to School Day is a community initiative that aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking (especially to and from school) can provide for the long term well-being of our children.

Now in its 24th year, the annual event aims to draw the spotlight on road safety and support the importance of regular walking, not just on the 19th of May, but every day. Apart from the physical benefits, regular walking also has a favourable impact on children’s cognitive and academic performance.

Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ encourages all of our local school community to leave the car in your garage, put on your warm winter coat or rain jacket and walk your child/children safely to and from school on Friday, 19th May.
