SECONDARY Awards Assembly

The Secondary Awards Assembly was held on Friday, 13 December 2019. Students were recognised for their effort with the Endeavour Award, for their academic excellence with the Academic Achievement Award and finally, the best in the Year Level with the Year Level Dux Award.

SECONDARY Awards Assembly

The Year Level Dux awardees were:

  • Aishah Arain (Year 11)
  • Asmaa Dahir (Year 10)
  • Nur Naziihah Hafidi (Year 9)
  • Osama Akkad (Year 8)
  • Amnah Saad (Year 7).

Three Special awards were also presented: The ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute certificates and the ICAS certificates.

The Long Tan Awards were presented to Hafsa Sarwar (Year 12) and Afeera Zafar (Year 10) by CPL Barry Laming from the Australian Defence Force.

We also congratulate our newly elected 2020 ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Captain Balaj Elahi and Vice Captain Bilal Ghouse.

    Vis Naidu is the Head of Secondary School at the Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ in Epping, Victoria. He was born and educated in South Africa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Diploma in Teaching and an Honours Degree in Psychology.

    He started his teaching in 1986 and was actively involved in the transformation of the political landscape in South Africa in1994. After teaching for 18 years in South Africa, he decided it was time for a change and moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2004.

    Vis has also taught in London, gaining valuable knowledge and experience as a secondary teacher (GCSE) of English. In Australia, he took up a position at a Catholic ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ in Kilmore, Victoria, teaching VCE Psychology and English. He joined Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ at the beginning of 2012 with the aim of helping to build the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ into a reputable institute of learning.
