Our English Department in collaboration with Humanities Department organised its inaugural "Battle of Speakers Contest" in our new auditorium on 2 September 2022. It was attended by Secondary students and teachers from Years 7 to 12.
The Battle of Speakers featured 18 budding students who spoke at the event by adopting the personas of famous people like Ertugrul, Winston Churchill, JF Kennedy, Salahuddin Ayoubi, Bryan Stevenson, Greta Thunberg, Nelson Mandela, Emmeline Parkhurst, Hilary Clinton, Emma Watson, Martin Luther King Junior, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Alexander the Great and many more.
We also had some teachers taking part like Mr Muhlis as Donald Trump, Mr Kinsella as Winston Churchill, Mr Dale Kang as Confucius and Mr Rauf as Sulayman the Magnificent.
Our panel of judges for the day were the members of the English Department. The Master of Ceremony was Ms Marwa Breis who coordinated the events with the audience quiz coordinated by Mr Mohammed Azim. The overwhelming response of the staff and students have prompted us to make this an annual event in our school calendar, inShaAllah.
