Our Senior students from Years 7 to 12 as well as Secondary staff came together today to celebrate the end of a very successful year 2016 in the Senior School.
Students were acknowledged by ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Principals Mr Houghton and Ms Rahat for their overall academic achievements as well as endeavour in various subjects. The PE Department gave out the Sports Awards and our 2016 SRCs were recognized with awards of appreciation for their service to their classes, the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ and the wider community.
The new PE Encouragement Awards named after Nuseyba Bint Ka'ab and Salman Al-Sarfi were presented to Ruqayah Chamra and Balaj Elahi, acknowledging them for their perseverance, courage and wisdom.
The Athletics House Trophy was won by House Safa (Red) for this year. Mr Bektash and Ms Layal proudly presented the brand new house trophy.
As a special guest, we welcomed Chief Petty Officer of the Australian Defense Force Mr Zulkarnain Shah Naim, Navy ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Cultural Affairs Advisor who presented Bilal Syed Adnan with a cheque of $200 and Abdullahi Khalif with an appreciation cheque of $550 for their academic excellence.
The 2016 Principal Award went to Ambreen Afridi.
The ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ also bid farewell to our graduated VCE Year 12 who attended the assembly. For a final time, ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Captain Tarek Taleb and Iqra Farid shared some valuable insights with our senior students, encouraging them to strive for academic excellence in the year ahead.

Vis Naidu is the Head of Secondary School at the Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ in Epping, Victoria. He was born and educated in South Africa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Diploma in Teaching and an Honours Degree in Psychology.
He started his teaching in 1986 and was actively involved in the transformation of the political landscape in South Africa in1994. After teaching for 18 years in South Africa, he decided it was time for a change and moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2004.
Vis has also taught in London, gaining valuable knowledge and experience as a secondary teacher (GCSE) of English. In Australia, he took up a position at a Catholic ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ in Kilmore, Victoria, teaching VCE Psychology and English. He joined Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ at the beginning of 2012 with the aim of helping to build the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ into a reputable institute of learning.
