Embracing Diversity: Cultural Hi-Tea Celebration

The Student Representative Council (SRC) and our Year 12 cohort organized a Cultural Hi-Tea event for Year 12 students and Secondary staff prior to the commencement of Ramadan. The event aimed to celebrate the diversity of cultures within the school community and promote intercultural understanding and appreciation.

The atmosphere was vibrant as both staff and our Senior students dressed up in their cultural attire and brought a plate of traditional foods to share with each other. The event provided an opportunity to sample a wide range of delicious foods from different cultures, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the school community.

The event was hosted by ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Captains Zainab and Osama who spoke about the significance of Cultural Day and its importance in promoting diversity and inclusivity. A quiz was organized, engaging everyone in an interactive and fun-filled activity that tested their knowledge about different cultures. Harun, a student representative leader, gave a presentation about Cultural Day in Islam, sharing insights about customs, traditions, and values associated with the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ culture.

One of the highlights of the event was the warm and friendly environment that encouraged conversation, photo sessions, and the sharing of meals between staff and students. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn from each other, exchange cultural experiences, and foster meaningful connections.
