Year 5 Wildlife Incursion

31 October 2024

Our Year 5 students recently enjoyed an enriching experience with WildAction, diving into the wonders of Australian wildlife through an interactive incursion. This program introduced them to concepts of animal classification, unique adaptations, habitats, ecological roles, and diets. Students were fascinated by animals like the Shingleback Lizard, Murray River Tortoise, Black-Headed Python, Bandicoot and a Tawny Frogmouth, among others.

Students had the unique opportunity to handle these animals, deepening their understanding of the threats these species face. This hands-on experience helped instil confidence in interacting with wildlife and reinforced the importance of protecting biodiversity. The incursion encouraged respect for all animals and the environment, inspiring students to become advocates for wildlife conservation.
