Our Junior School girls from Year 5A participated in a wonderful intercultural exchange program on Friday, 25 August 2017 when Malaysian students visited Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ as part of the Global ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Students Outreach (GISO) program conducted by their university.
Students from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) selected Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ to spend all of Friday with our young Junior School students in a highly interactive session, enjoyed both by our students and their Malaysian counterparts. Our students were treated to traditional Malaysian games and foods, learnt about Malaysian clothing and were also able to display and wear samples. In return, our students presented their guests with hand painted boomerangs they had made earlier in their class in anticipation of the program.
USIM aspires to produce a generation of balanced multi-lingual leaders who are respected, referred and relevant with a social conscience. Recognised as USIM’s highly successful flagship programs, GISO outreach projects are merit based which are initiated and implemented overseas using funds raised by the staff and students. To date more than 40 countries have benefitted from this program, alhamdulillah. Thank you for allowing Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ to be part of this great initiative.
