As a part our Values-in-Action Program and commitment to community service, our Year 3 students welcomed some of the wonderful senior residents from local Epping Gardens Aged Care for morning tea inside our auditorium earlier this week.
The seniors were greeted by the students and taken on a small tour around the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ when they learnt how our school community has grown from barn to these state of the art buildings. The students also sang some nasheeds and presented their special guests with handmade cards for them. There was also an opportunity for students and senior citizens to share some real life stories.
The children loved connecting with the elderly who in turn enjoyed the company of our students, staff and each other. As a senior, you have lived a long, valuable life, and you can impart some of that wisdom to the younger generation. Students were delighted to receive an invitation to Epping Gardens Aged Care in the near future.
