Book Character Parade

20 August 2019

This week, we celebrate "National Book Week" to raise awareness of the importance of reading skills and the love for books. One of the annual highlights of the week is the popular Book Character Parade which kicked off our Book Week celebrations at the ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ on Monday, 19 August 2019.

It was fantastic to see the vast majority of students and Primary staff joined in the celebration and came dressed up in a book character costume, showcasing their love for reading. Students who are dressed as Storybook Characters walked in the parade with their classes. Thank you to all parents who attended the Book Character Parade and helped their kids with their costume choice, style and attire.

We have created the photo album below and invite you to browse through all the wonderful images taken during the Book Character Parade.

We continue to run several more fun learning activities that incorporate literacy throughout this week, such as

  • DEAR – Drop Everything and Read Sessions
  • Selected students to read part of their favourite story in assembly
  • Guessing Nursery Rhymes and Book Titles
  • Guest Author and Guest Readers
  • Design a new book cover for their favourite book.
  • Design a book mark.
