Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ proudly hosted our school production "The Amazing Travels of Ibn Battuta" from 12th to 14th September, an unforgettable community event celebrating the remarkable journeys of the famed Moroccan explorer. Through an engaging mix of performances, interactive exhibits, cultural food experiences, and a vibrant Cultural Market, the event brought Ibn Battuta’s adventures to life.
The festivities commenced on Thursday with an immersive tour featuring stations that represented the various countries Ibn Battuta visited, allowing attendees to explore the cultural foods, traditions, and historical aspects of each region. The highlight were the dynamic performances at our Auditorium, where our students beautifully showcased the rich cultures of countries such as Egypt, Somalia, Tanzania, Turkey, India, and China.Each performance segment transported the audience to these distant lands, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Ibn Battuta’s journeys.
The event MCs were ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Captain Areeba Bilal and former ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ Captain Osama Akkad.
On Friday, the excitement continued with a sold-out show followed by an immersive food experience featuring diverse cuisines from Ibn Battuta’s travels. Saturday concluded the event with a lively Cultural Market, complete with food stalls, crafts, camel rides, and ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ art workshops.
This inspiring and educational event was made possible through the generous support of the Community Cohesion & Support Program (CCSP), City of Whittlesea, and SalamFest. Their commitment to promoting cultural understanding and community engagement was evident throughout the entire production.
Al ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ’s production not only celebrated Ibn Battuta's extraordinary legacy but also served as an educational tool for young Muslims, bringing history to life by combining learning with cultural appreciation. By immersing the community in the rich heritage and adventurous spirit of one of history’s greatest travellers, the college created a truly memorable experience for all involved.
