Harmony Day 2018 Celebrations

21 March 2018

The ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ celebrated World Harmony Day on Wednesday, 21 March 2018. This is a special day in our annual calendar where we recognise and celebrate our cultural diversity, inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Mufti Aasim attended our Junior Years assembly in the morning and shared messages about how as individuals – it starts with me - we actually all contribute to beauty and harmony at home, in school, during play and every day. Together as a family, class, school and community, regardless of our cultural differences, we are all responsible to do things right because our Deen is beautiful and peaceful.

As part of the celebrations, students across the school were encouraged to come dressed in orange clothes, wear orange hijabs or accessories and bring in a healthy (orange) flood platter to be shared with their classmates and teachers. Foundation to Year 4 students also had the option to wear their traditional outfit.

It was wonderful to come across a sea of orange today and see students from all year levels and staff proudly wearing orange to honour Harmony Day.

We would like to thank you for your support for your child/children’s full participation in this wonderful annual event with the annual theme of "We all belong". A special thank you as well to all parents who made time to provide wonderful healthy food for their child's classes.
